UK CAMPING HOLIDAYS

Retreat for peace and quiet, a haven for nature, access to bridleways, footpaths and clear cycle routes, local homemade pub food, heated, luxury shower rooms.

This could sound like your dream of camping or motor homing heaven, but it’s definitely not a dream, all this does exist and lots more!

As a family of 3 (2 adults and 1 child) well-traveled campers, all of the above is important to us when we’re searching for places to stay and visit in our motor home. Depending on the time of year, UK camping holidays have sites which stay open ‘all year’, and who offer hard standing, fully serviced pitches (which include electric hook-up, your own water supply and drainage). Alongside this, there is the provision of excellent, warm and cosy shower rooms with constant hot water, as well as well equipped laundry rooms with modern washing machines, tumble dryers, irons and ironing boards. If the site is family friendly, you will find designated play areas for children, catering for all ages. These are well looked after and safely maintained. Their facilities can offer anything from slides, swings and roundabouts, to rescued, restored boats and farm sites with children’s own tractors and trailers!

Throughout the ‘high season’ we tend to venture to sites known as ‘CL’s’, which are Certified Locations. These offer a maximum of 5 pitches and tend to be located in stunning, sometimes isolated, natural surroundings. They can be found in places of specific interest and beauty or on working farms. UK camping holidays may offer more basic, simple facilities where you have the opportunity to be more self sufficient, but that is coupled with tranquility and many moments of undisturbed peace and relaxation.

A network of public footpaths and cycle routes can be found on the perimeter of towns and cities as well as villages and more rural areas. These enable us to venture to so many places as a family. It could be a riverside pathway providing picnic areas and benches en route to a village or a well-signed route into an historic city. Secure, cycle lockups are available within city centers, which enable us to freely explore together on foot or by making the most of public transport. Timetables, scenic places to visit, events happening locally and many more leaflets can be found on display in Reception areas on site. If you have a specific request Site Wardens or Owners will go out of their way to find you an answer and help in anyway they can.

Our own personal experiences of UK camping holidays, caravaning and motor homing over many years, staying at a wide range of UK sites, has resulted in positive memories of freedom, happiness and relaxation spent together as a family.
