CAMPING EXPEDITIONS

If you love to camp but find that year after year, you do much the same thing, it might be time to consider some unique camping expeditions. Many people are unaware that all types of exciting expeditions exist, making the overall camping experience special. In this article, we wanted to provide you with information on some of these unique adventures to show you how camping can take on an entirely new look and feel.

Safari Camping – If you head to Africa, you could go on a safari expedition. With this, you would spend the day on safaris, having the chance to see native animals up close. Tour guides would take you to remote locations of the region so you can watch elephants, giraffes, gazelles, and other animals in their natural habitat. Then at the end of the day, you would return to your campsite for authentic food and in some cases, entertainment. Safari camping is exciting, giving you the experience of a lifetime.

Horseback Riding Camping – Many states offer trail ride camping, which involves taking pack horses into isolated areas. In this case, you might ride for six hours or more a day, stopping at night to camp. For people that love horseback riding and having the chance to get into areas not available on foot or via car, this is an ideal opportunity. In the evening, it is common to sit around a large, roaring fire, eating great food and singing songs. While horseback riding trips are not for everyone, there are some great camping expeditions on horse back!

Kayaking, Canoeing, or River Rafting Camping – These are more unique camping expeditions that involves adventure during the day and rest at night. In this case, you and others would enjoy days filled with kayaking, canoeing, or river rafting. After spending time in the water and sun, you would set up camp where you can kick back and relax. For adventurous people, taking a water camping trip is a wonderful experience.

Winter Camping – Most people think of camping in the summertime when temperatures are warm and skies are sunny. However, camping in the wintertime can also be a great adventure. Of course, the equipment used would be designed for colder temperatures but the experience can be just as fun. Often, these type of camping expeditions take you high in the mountains where you could ski or hike. Without doubt, winter camping is unique but very rewarding.
