Callow Top is situated just north of the picturesque market town of Ashbourne, nestling within a delightful elevated country setting overlooking the Dove Valley and with the famous Tissington Trail and High Peak Trails, Dovedale and the Manifold Valley, all within walking distance from Callow Top.
Its location is an ideal base to explore the beauty of the Peak National Park.
The focal point of the Holiday Park is the old farmhouse, which has been extended and converted into an Olde English Inne serving real ale brewed in our own "Haywood Brewery", and a selection of good pub food. The Inn is the meeting point to relax in the evenings with other holidaymakers. The Inn also has an integral room to accommodate families with younger children.
We now have an established course fishery and a bird hide, for Callow Top clients only, situated in the "David Bellamy" award winning nature reserve at Haywood Farm. Keep an eye on our "News Page" concerning the Callow Top Haywood Craft Brewery and other things planned.
The park itself although in an elevated position, is very flat and with closely mown grass and sheltered by a perimeter of high hedgerows which house a variety of bird life.
There are numerous picturesque walks that lead from Callow Top and follow the course of the River Dove running right into the heart of Dovedale, where you can cross the river upon large stepping stones.
The river and the trails then continue their passage onto the manifold valley. Less than 500 yards from the park is the now famous Tissington Trail on which you can cycle or walk over twenty miles. This joins up with other trails that allow you to explore the calm natural scenic beauty of the Derbyshire Dales, valleys and hilltops.
